Episode 016 - Virgin Cocktails

This time around we get serious about alcohol abuse and drinking and driving. Also, join me as we salute all the men and women who have been our designated driver. When's the last time you were a designated driver?

Here are the non-alcoholic drinks mentioned on this episode:

Gin & Tonic look-alike
Sprite with a lime wedge on the rocks

Cuba Libra look-alike
Coca-Cola with a lime wedge on the rocks

Virgin Madras
One part orange juice
One part cranberry juice
Pour both ingredients in a tumbler over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Virgin Bay Breeze
One part pineapple juice
One part cranberry juice
Pour both ingredients in a tumbler over ice.

Shirley Temple
One part orange juice
One part 7-up
One part Ginger-Ale
Dash of grenadine
Mix ingredients into a sour or collins glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

Virgin Planter's Punch
3 oz grapefruit juice
2 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz lime juice
1/4 oz simple syrup
Pour all ingredients into a shaker full of ice. Shake and strain into a collings glass filled 3/4 with ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a pineapple spear.

Golden Nest
4 oz orange juice
1 oz cranberry juice
1 egg yolk
Dash of grenadine
Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass on the rocks.

Virgin Bellini
3 oz peach nectar
Dash of grenadine
1 oz lemon juice
Pour ingredients into a champagne flute and add approximately 4 ounces of club soda. Stir and enjoy.

1 oz orange juice
1/2 oz lemon juice
Dash of grenadine
Shake all ingredients in a shaker full of ice and strain into a highball glass filled 3/4 with ice. Top with approximately 5 ounces of Ginger Ale.

Atomic Cat
One part orange juice
One part tonic water
Pour both ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice.

Very interesting ipod program. Unfortunately, I cannot get over the martini logo they show on the iPod since it happens to be my tattoo design. Makes me wonder where they found it.

This was a good epiosde to have. I have a few friends that aren't much of a drinker so this will give them a fun alternative to coke and sprite! Good sensable thing to do!
